Our story

We dare couples to love on purpose.

Dare to Love is a Christ-centered marriage enrichment community founded by Walter and Tondalah Stroud for couples who desire stronger marriages, deeper connection, and shared purpose.

What began with a shared calling to encourage couples grew through candid conversations, interactive “Hot Topics” gatherings, date nights, prayer, and practical tools for real relationships. Today, that same heart guides every coaching session, ceremony, gathering, and act of service.

Our Christian foundation

Christ is at the center of every covenant.

We believe marriage is a sacred covenant established by God. When husband and wife are joined with Christ at the center, their union is strengthened by truth, grace, prayer, and a shared commitment to live according to His Word.

“And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

Ecclesiastes 4:12, KJV

The Dare to Love Premarital Journey

From two individuals to one covenant.

Before a couple can build a healthy “we,” each person must understand the “me” they are bringing into the marriage. This journey guides couples from self-awareness to shared covenant through honest conversation, biblical wisdom, and practical preparation.

01

Knowing the Me

Before we become one, we need to understand who we are bringing into the marriage.

Explore individual values, experiences, expectations, faith, strengths, differences, and personal visions for marriage. A healthy “we” begins with understanding the two people creating it.

02

From Me to We

Two lives learning to become one.

Explore leaving and cleaving, shared priorities, decision-making, sacrifice, consideration, and what it means to begin thinking as husband and wife, not simply as two individuals.

03

Talking Through the We

Staying connected when communication gets hard.

Practice listening, speaking with care, recognizing conflict patterns, understanding how you each give and receive love, staying present, and approaching disagreements as both of you against the problem, not against each other.

04

Working the We

Turning love into an everyday partnership.

Talk honestly about responsibilities, finances, household duties, careers, schedules, decision-making, children, and the often-unseen work required to build a life together.

05

Protecting the We

Guarding what you are building together.

Identify the boundaries that protect your marriage from family pressures, friendships, work, technology, distractions, unresolved conflict, and anything that can gradually create distance between husband and wife.

06

Living the Covenant as We

The wedding is one day. The marriage is a lifetime.

Bring everything together as you prepare to make a covenant before God. Explore faith, commitment, forgiveness, perseverance, and the practices that will help you continue choosing “us” over “me” throughout your marriage.

07

Nurturing the We

Building emotional, spiritual, and physical intimacy.

Discuss affection, friendship, trust, emotional safety, sexual expectations, physical boundaries before marriage, prayer, and how intimacy may change through different seasons. Learn practices that keep closeness intentional, mutual, and protected.

08

Planning the We

Creating a shared plan for the life you hope to build.

Align goals for children and parenting, money, saving and investing, careers, housing, health, insurance, estate planning, rest, travel, and how you will prepare together for life’s unexpected seasons.

02 / Wedding Officiant

A ceremony that sounds like you.

A warm, personalized ceremony centered on your story, your commitment, and the sacred promise you are making before those you love.

03 / Funeral or Memorial Service

Honoring a life with dignity and care.

A compassionate, personalized funeral or memorial service that reflects the life, faith, and legacy of your loved one, supported by experience officiating more than 30 services.

Pray together. Serve together.

Couples who pray and serve the community grow stronger together.

Service gives couples a shared purpose beyond themselves. Through Angel Tree outreach, food pantry support, holiday giving, and other hands-on opportunities, Dare to Love brings couples together to pray, meet practical needs, and show the love of Christ in the community.

We welcome opportunities to serve alongside churches and community organizations while helping couples build compassion, gratitude, unity, and lasting connections with one another.

Payment, cancellation & renewal policy

One-year membership: Membership is a 12-month commitment for one married couple. The annual option is paid in one payment. The quarterly option is the same one-year membership paid in four scheduled installments; it is not a cancel-anytime, quarter-to-quarter plan.

Three-business-day cancellation period: A couple may cancel within three business days after enrolling for a full refund and no remaining payment obligation. Welcome kits will be processed after this period ends.

After the cancellation period: A cancellation request stops renewal at the end of the current 12-month term but does not erase installments already scheduled for that term. Payments already made are nonrefundable except when required by law or when Dare to Love cancels the membership without providing a comparable alternative. Documented hardship requests may be considered individually.

Renewal authorization: Membership will not renew or charge automatically unless the checkout page clearly discloses the renewal terms and the member affirmatively authorizes recurring billing. Any price change will be disclosed before a renewal charge.

How to cancel: Members may submit a cancellation or nonrenewal request through the member account when available or by emailing connect@wedaretolove.org. Dare to Love will provide written confirmation. Nothing in this policy limits rights available under applicable law.

Enrollment and payment are not open yet. The complete membership agreement will be displayed before payment information is collected and must be accepted before enrollment.
